Cabin Campers are expanding to Stavanger, Bergen and Bodø

As we all know, 2020 wasn’t exactly the year. For anybody.  But often good things come out of hard times. And as for us in the Cabin Campers family – we came to a crossroad.  From not knowing if Cabin Campers were to survive, as a direct consequence of the pandemic, the company gained new owners at the end of the year, and we are now at the starting point of what we believe will be a great year.  This will be the first year in Cabin Campers history that we offer full rental from four different pick up stations. You can now pick up your van from Stavanger, Bergen, Bodø and Oslo. We truly want to make our unique campervans available for everyone, everywhere.

The best of all? – We have extended the rental season and are now looking forward to giving our guests the great experience of exploring winter in Norway – the best way. The right way. Our campervans are winter ready and will bring you closer to nature, it will give you the freedom we are longing for, in light of the pandemic. Freedom to roam. Freedom to sleep everywhere. Freedom to create memories that will last a lifetime.

Winter glamping

It’s no secret that Norway is one of the most beautiful countries in the world with its spectacular mountains, landscape, fjords and nature.  The majority of our guests have usually rented a campervan between March and October, which is considered the high season, but we believe that winter season is the perfect time to explore Norway. Everyone should experience the winter paradise. That’s why we have made some adjustments and upgraded our vans with comfort heaters that will keep 20 degrees inside the van, even though its -15 degrees outside, – so you don’t need to worry about freezing.  This will keep you nice and warm all night. What is better than waking up in the morning, after a good night of sleep, enjoying a good brekkie and then watching the view with a coffee to get you started before your hike up the mountain and free skiing downhill.

You know the feeling? The sound of snow under your feet, the fresh, cold air? The rush that runs through your body when you are at the top and set downhill? Feeling alive. Feeling happy. Feeling humble and amazed while moving through the mighty mountains.  Yep – we certainly know that feeling. The little joys that means the most.

For us in the Cabin Campers family, one of the best things we know – are when our guests return and share their wonderful moments and amazing experiences with us:

We had the best Easter holiday, driving around in a campervan from Cabin Campers. We had not quite decided where we wanted to go and thought we would look at the conditions in the mountains a bit. Therefore, it was absolutely great to have the opportunity to move according to which peaks we wanted to go and according to the weather.
The campervan had plenty of space for all the randonee-equipment and we got to enjoy both west and east of Sognefjellet in Jotunheimen. We loved to wake up to snow-capped peaks right outside the window, and the van had all the equipment you need to keep warm and make good, hot meals.
Along the road there are good opportunities to borrow showers and toilets for a small penny, so we had everything we needed all the time.
That Easter we had one of the most amazing summit experiences of our lives. After a short hike up, the meeting with the top of Store Ringstind, in glorious sunshine, simply made us speechless. To get there we parked the van outside Turtagrø. At that time of year, Sognefjellsveien was open, and it provides opportunities to reach peaks also from Sognefjellshytta and Krossbu. Here, a summit trip to Store Smørstabbtind and Storebjørn is recommended. Earlier in the winter season when the road there is closed, a trip to the Beitostøl area can be recommended for peaks such as Rasletind, Synshorn and Mugnetind. Hemsedalsfjellene and Romsdalen are also easily accessible from a Cabin Camper.

Elisabeth and Marius, easter 2019

Since Elisabeth and Marius rented a campervan back in 2019, we have upgraded the vans with a better comfort heater, snow chains and the possibility to rent add-ons like toilet, shower, Wi-Fi and prepped meals -so that you get the most comfortable trip as possible.

What are you waiting for? Here are some tips to get you started

  1. Go to cabincampers.no and find your campervan.
  2. Make sure to check varsom.no for mountain conditions and avalanche risk. If theres risk of avalanche one place, you can easily drive somewhere else. Park by the foot of a mountain. Hike up and freeski downhill.
  3. Download the apps Norgeskart, Maps.me and OnTheSnow Ski and Snow report.
  4. Ask us and we will give you a lots of travel tips, routes and a packing list.

Get ready. Pack your bags and go explore.

– Winter is coming.
